Cable Wars

The end does not justify the means! The Board's inner sphincter is moving ahead with its plan to circumvent the by-laws: Verizon FiOS Wiring at the Horizon Condominium Dear Owners and Tenants, We are pleased to inform you that Verizon is currently in the process of wiring the building for FiOS, a bundled home communications (Internet, telephone, and television) service, operating over a fiber-optic communications network. At the current time, the installation company is working in the B stairwell, and will eventually be moving on to the hallways. Once we receive a time schedule for this work, you will receive additonal notification. Sincerely, XXXXXX XXXXXXXXX Property Manager

The JackASS crew has been trying to shut down this forum but, for the time being at least, we are still here.

I'm sure they don't want any discussion of this beyond their "smoke-filled room".

I think it's just dandy that we are dictated to without discussion or vote to change the rules.

It may turn out to be a good deal. But how are we to know?

We don't matter. We are just children who must be led by tyrants.

Oust the friggin dictators!!!!!!

Yay. It's still here.

The note was missing the next part.

Please take your belongings to the property clerk's office. Procede to the 4th floor to have your head shaved, uh, hair done. After which you go directly to the steam chamber. We'll take care of the rest.

This is odd. I can't post. I have recused myself, for the time being as the newer admins work out whatever. I think that they will make sure everything remains on the up and up. Anyhow, I figured I'd share this story of an amazing young man who is beyond brilliant. Click my name for a link.

I actually like Verizon Fios myself, prefering it to both RCN and Time-Warner. What I don't like is the process by which it was implemented. There was no discussion or input which wouldn't matter if it did not affect us owners. There was no discussion of the alterations which are necessary to the common spaces and our units in order to accommodate this service. What alterations will be necessary to utilize this service. How much of a mess and at what cost? And what about the by-laws?
